With that leg up in the air, this will be forever known as the “I’m coming to get you” pose. I can’t help but to giggle everytime I look at this shot.

Because of things going on in my personal life, there was a huge time shortage that left all my favorites from December sessions sitting, waiting, wishing, hoping to be shared. No worries, my plan is to get to those this week and then the following week I’ll be back on some sort of sharing schedule.
There was no shortage of cuteness in this household.

A big warm thank you to all who have shared a bit of yourselves with me this year. I wish your hearts be filled with joy and wonder and your stomachs with good food and laughter this season and in the year ahead.

On the day of this session it was pouring outside and dark as ever. I had to supplement the natural window light with a little flash. I will do just about anything to avoid taking out any type of artificial light at a session, but sometimes nature works against me and there is no other choice. Luckily, this little girl was game for anything I had to offer.

This little girl had the type of energy I dream about bottling. I’d get so much done! These were taken on a relatively warm day in November and the next day it snowed. Thank you, Chicago.

These precious first weeks of life are such a joy to capture. I encourage new families to schedule newborn sessions as early as possible from the birth date and especially so within the first month. Because I usually book up a few months in advance, it is best if the session is scheduled before the little one is born.
This handsome little guy’s mom was all sorts of prepared; she booked months before he was even born! While I can’t make any guarantees, please know that you can always call or email to see if I can squeeze in a newborn or maternity session. I know planning for a portrait doesn’t always make the list during those stressful last months of pregnancy.

At her last session she was only 10 months old. It’s amazing how fast these kids grow up! And change! Oh my gosh do they change!
