A quick update on the waiting list situation… I’m still booking appointments exclusively from this list. All available April dates are now booked and May dates are still being filled, but there are very few left. I still expect the waiting list to fulfill all available slots.
Babies in hats??? Forget about it. The cuteness is unbearable. So when I found this green polka dot hat at Baby Gap there was no doubt that it would end up in my bag.
Since I plan on updating fresh! more regularly it occurred to me that not everyone on the email list wants to see every single thing I post in their inbox. Long story short there are other options.
We did this shoot in their home using both his nursery and the kid’s playroom as our on location studio.
The two images above were taken in his playroom. His mom painted adorable frogs and blades of grass on the walls. The blue toned walls in both his playroom and nursery made his blue eyes stand out. No retouching necessary on those baby blues.
A week or so ago I posted on the DMP portfolio site that I will be booking new appointments off a waiting list. I’ve already started booking April and May. If you are on the list for an April, May or 1st available date and haven’t received an email update yet, it will come within the next few days. Going by the size of the list, I don’t expect to have any remaining dates for those not on the list.
One of my first sessions back was with a family I’ve been photographing for nearly three years. The oldest was only four months old at our first session. Time goes so very fast. She’s already three!!!

Since I made a few changes to this site recently, here’s a brief tour of what’s new:
During Kendall’s last doctor visit I documented the rituals of the wellness checkup. You’ll see that she is the perfect photographer’s child. If you have a doctor’s visit scheduled, plan to take your camera! It was a spur of the moment decision to grab my camera on the way out the door. I only realized once I downloaded the images how truly priceless these are.

Well, it’s happened. I’ve been “back” from maternity leave for the last month or so. Technically, I’ve never been on maternity leave, not full time anyway. I’ve continued to do my chicagouncommon.com work throughout. Speaking of which, if you are going to Northwestern’s Prentice Women’s Hospital look for my Chicago images which are on permanent display.
Look at me going on tangents already!
In the past few days I’ve spruced up this site a bit to prepare for the new year. I have some more work to do, but I didn’t want to leave the site down for more than a few days. I’ve added categories to the right, but only the last few entries have been categorized. Next up – an update to the portfolio site.
On to what you really care about … I’ve been so happy to see that many of you have been anxiously awaiting my return to portrait work. Me too! I’ve missed working with all of your beautiful children! Beginning this April I will officially begin scheduling portrait sessions. I’ll be posting more information including available dates in the days ahead. Please note that I currently have a waiting list about 30 families long and all available dates will go to the waiting list first.
Our little girl arrived 3 weeks early on November 1st weighing 7lbs and measuring 19in. Absolutely perfect (if I do say so myself.) I’ll continue to be on maternity leave enjoying this little miracle until Spring 2008. See you all then!!!
Oh! Did I mention she was born with a full head of hair?
