Class of 2011, now is the time to book your senior portraits! This year I will photograph seniors between July and early November at outdoor locations throughout Chicagoland. Special discounts and more information after this gorgeous Class of 2010 high school senior!

Book your portraits between now and August to receive a set of 50 wallets included in the session fee!

While I photograph high school seniors throughout Chicago and its surrounding suburbs, class of 2011 graduates from the following schools receive a $50 print credit included in the session fee:

San Francisco, July 3rd – 6th

Over the last few months some of my dear readers keenly noticed that I’ve added San Francisco and London to my ever expanding service area. The plan is to travel to San Francisco twice a year and London once a year. They are my two favorite cities (other than Chicago, of course!) so why not put some effort in making them a bigger part of my life? Look for the addition of other cities in the future!

I’ll be traveling to San Francisco during the first week of July. ~~Currently, there is room for one more appointment.~~ If you are in the Bay Area and are looking for an enthusiastic portrait photographer, I’m your girl.

A Hodge Podge of DMP Things

Waiting List » In the next two weeks, I’ll begin booking June, July and August from the list. I’m putting together a few different types of session packages and I want to make these available before booking any more sessions. Options are good. If there’s something you would like to see in a session fee + portrait products package, let me know. Things are still in the works.

Casting Call » After I get through my waiting list, I’ll be doing a small casting call for unique looking kids of all ages (curly hair, red hair, dark hair + blue eyes, etc.) to take part in a few complimentary conceptual sessions. These will be to test new locations and ideas I’ve been cooking up.

Reminder » To those reading along via an email subscription I’ve set up an options page where you can select what type of email you receive. If you are interested in one of the other options, simply unsubscribe from your current subscription (you can do so at the bottom of each email). Then, sign up for a new one.
There are so many of you currently on the list I can’t help but cringe each time I post a new entry. This is especially the case when I’m posting personal entries. I’m thinking who could possibly want to read this. Nonetheless I’m going to keep posting. It’s a nice distraction from the everyday and it serves as good therapy.

The Usual » Since I haven’t posted portrait session images in a few days… check out this adorable one year old. She is just as sweet in person as she looks here.

Mini Sessions (or Lack Thereof)

Over the past few weeks I’ve received a few emails regarding whether or not I would be doing mini sessions this year. The short – no, I’m not.
The long – I had planned on doing mini sessions last year, but I booked up faster than I thought and then my pregnancy complicated things. It simply never worked out. I apologize to anyone who was anticipating these sessions. At this time, I don’t have any plans for 2008 mini-sessions.
There are still some doubts in my head about having these types of sessions in the future at all as I’m not entirely sure they fit into the way I shoot. I thoroughly enjoy developing a connection with your wonderful children through the course of an hour or two. I think that’s what gives my work that extra bit of “heart”.

ONXRT: Live From the Archives, Volume 9

I’m excited and oh-so-very proud to announce a series of my images were selected for use in the jacket and liner of this year’s Live From the Archives, Volume 9 CD by XRT. I couldn’t be happier to be part of the project.

Proceeds of ONXRT: Live From the Archives, Volume 9 will benefit the Columbia College Chicago Scholarship and Metropolitan Family Services. Columbia College’s Al Parker Scholarship assists outstanding sophomore, junior, and senior level radio students defray tuition costs. The scholarship is awarded annually to the students who, by recommendation of the Columbia College radio faculty, have demonstrated considerable achievement in the department and have significant potential for future creative development in the broadcast arts.

The CD is on-sale now to the public at all Chicagoland Borders locations and for a short time will be available at ShopXRT. Get’m while they are hot! Previous volumes have sold out quickly.

Dawn Mikulich is completely booked for 2006. Thank you for a wonderfully busy year!
Over the next month I will finalize my 2007 pricing and will then open up the 2007 calendar for new appointments. Pricing should be up by November 1st and I’ll start booking new sessions on December 1st.
My apologies to those who have already asked to book in 2007. I’m taking some time to take a good look at my scheduling. I tend to overbook myself and I want to have a better game plan for the year ahead. That is best for all of us!
