Non-stop Fun!
Dawn M Photography is at the height of its busy portrait season. Especially so since I tried to get every single client on the waiting list scheduled before the end of Fall. I am happy to say I did it. Maybe even over did it! Nonetheless, I wouldn't want my working days filled any other way. I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone over the next several weeks.
December portrait session dates are now open to anyone who is interested! Get in touch.
In the meantime meet "N". I first photographed her when she was the grand old age of 3. She was quite playful back then and this year she's the most athletic child I photographed so far. Tree climbing was at the top of her list of favorite things to do. So — guess what the first stop on the DMP Children's Portrait Express was?

That's right the climbing trees! "N" climbed and climbed and climbed until she went a little too high and we had to encourage some other activities.

We tore that playground up!!! From the tire and the tunnels to the swings and the monkey bars "N" showed me how to play, really play, at the park. I'll have to send her a thank you card for helping get my exercise in for the day!

Oh and did I mention the fun?!?

Sisters

The mom of these lovely little ladies recently scheduled an appointment to update their portraits. The images shown here were taken last year. I pulled these images from a folder I keep on my Mac with my favorite images from each portrait session. It helps to keep faces and names fresh in my head and to get me even more exited to see each DMP kid "all grown up".
I remember this session like it was yesterday. These girls were a blast. I can't wait to work with them again this summer.

A Portfolio Updating We Will Go
A very large portfolio update is long overdue. Sadly, I only had time to make a few minor updates in all of 2007. It will be slow coming since new photo shoots and baby wrangling is top priority these days.
This kiddo had personality. Oh the fun we had! We were running all around his downtown condominium and by the time we wrapped up I needed a nap.

Recent Work .. Brother & Sister
One of my first sessions back was with a family I've been photographing for nearly three years. The oldest was only four months old at our first session. Time goes so very fast. She's already three!!!
Here they are, adorable as ever.

Recent Session: Three Year Old
It hysterical to me that the picture below looks posed. As if I asked this 3 year old to put his face right up to these leaves and smile just right. Nothing this adorable is that easy.
What happened? We asked him to sit by the leaves. That simple request inspired him to lie belly down and gather them up into the pile you see in front of him. I think his smile is is a reflection of how proud he was for making the rest of us laugh.

Don't you wish life as an adult was this stress free?
Me too.

Recent Session ... Two Year Old
By the looks of this image you might think I'm some sort of fantastic comedian. Thanks, little K.

This was his more serious side, but mostly he was all fun.

Check out the shoes! I hear they were a present from grandma. Adorable.

Recent Session ... 3 Year Old
Such the cutie! He wanted to wear sweatpants for his portrait session and you better believe he did! I honestly don't think I could have as easily captured his personality without those comfy-cozy pants.

My Three Year Old Friend
More of this cutie, because I forgot to share his story.
Usually with this age I find I need to be more careful. Delicate, almost. If they are the shy type you can lose them.
When I walk into an appointment I pay close attention to how they react to me and this little guy came right up to me and poked me in my belly button. By the time he grabbed my hands so that he could use his feet to climb up me, I knew that we were going to be fast friends.
